These are perfect for keeping out the cold at a Guy Fawkes Night party. The ribs can also be cooked over a barbecue instead of being baked in the oven.

1.5 Kilogram Pork spare ribs (3 lb) 2 Tablespoon Soft brown sugar 1 Medium Onion, grated 1 Teaspoon Ground ginger 2 Cloves Garlic, crushed 2 Tablespoon Tomato purée 150 ml Orange juice ( 1/4 pint) Salt Freshly ground black pepper Raw onion rings to garnish
Method
Place the spare ribs in a large roasting tin. Mix all the remaining ingredients together and season well.
Pour evenly over the spare ribs. Bake at 200 °C / 400 °F / Gas 6 for 45-50 minutes.
Turn and baste the spare ribs frequently during cooking.
Alternatively cook the spare ribs over a barbecue basting frequently with the sauce.
